Julia Gonzalez

Dance Instructor

Julia Gonzalez (she/her) is an artist, dancer, and educator originally from Fresno, California. Her formal dance training began at the esteemed Dance Studio of Fresno, under the guidance of Sue Sampson-Dalena. She earned her BFA in Dance from California State University, Long Beach, where she was honored as the Department of Dance’s 2022 Outstanding Baccalaureate Student.


Julia has studied with renowned dance professionals including Peter Chu, Ami Shulman, Doug Varone, Rebecca Lemme, and Keith Johnson. Her performance repertoire includes works by Peter Chu, Mia Michaels, Micaela Taylor, Rebecca Lemme, and Billy Bell. She is also a member of Imprints, a Fresno-based contemporary company directed by Hannah Millar. With Imprints, Julia has performed in several of Millar’s pieces such as Boxed, Let Us Bleed, Then Heal, and Exploding.Beautiful.You., for which she also served as a choreographic collaborator.


Since 2018, Julia has established herself as a respected dance educator, deeply cherished by the many students she has mentored. Her teaching is rooted in intentional research, exploration, and aimed at helping dancers discover empowerment and joy through movement.
